Electroless Nickel Plating (ENP) is an auto-catalytic chemical process used to deposit a nickel phosphorus alloy on a metallic substrate. Unlike conventional electroplating, it does not require an external electric current, which means the coating thickness is perfectly uniform across the entire surface of the part, including complex internal geometries, deep blind holes, and sharp edges. At AGS, we provide low, medium, and high phosphorus options to match specific corrosion and hardness requirements. High-phosphorus ENP offers superior chemical resistance, while medium-phosphorus is the industry workhorse. The coating provides exceptional wear resistance and can be heat-treated to achieve hardness levels up to 62 HRC, comparable to hard chrome. This makes it ideal for precision gears, fuel system components, and valves. Our process control includes continuous bath analysis and microsectioning to verify thickness and phosphorus content.
